couchpotato
If you cancel your AIS number, then probably the SIM data is gone, so just copy all your SIM contact numbers etc onto your phone memory before you cancel, then you can copy back to your Aussie SIM, or any other SIM you might acquire in the future. I have been doing this for years. Edited October 23, 2022 by couchpotato

Popular Post Gottfrid
I have been having about 25 - 30 different expired sim cards. Most of them from Thailand, but from many other countries as well. No one has ever lost it´s phone book or contacts. Can still put a 15 year old sim in a phone that can read it and get up all the numbers. 2
CharlieH
Cancelling your contract does nothing to the content of the card or the phone. It simply means it doesnt work anymore to receive or transmit. 1
Mickeymaus
At my Samsung phone I can import and export the data from the SIM card. I also can select the storage location of the contacts (SIM, SAMSUNG account,...)
