webfact
Pata Zoo has dismissed as groundless media reports that it is going to sell its only remaining gorilla for about 30 million baht. The private zoo, which is located on the 6th and 7th floors of Pata Pinklao department store, said in a statement today (Saturday) that the zoo has never held talks with any organisation or individual over the sale of their female gorilla, named Bua Noi, which has been with the zoo since it was brought into Thailand from Germany about 30 years ago, when it was three-years-old. Bua Noi and another male gorilla were imported for exhibition at the zoo in 1992. It has been the only gorilla in the country since Thailand signed the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Popular Post nobodysfriend
Very sad . I feel sorry for the gorilla for already 30 years in solitary imprisonment . What has it done to deserve this ? The thai laws allowing this should be modified . Animal torture is a crime . 5 1

fondue zoo
They can't or won't do anything to the guy. Bua was apparently purchased before Thailand signed the international agreement to not traffic/buy/sell protected species.
Popular Post greenmonkey
Hmmnn, this guy is a real piece of s#%t!!! Say's that he loves his animals. Not sure if my missus read the story right but the way she explained it to me was that an offer was made to re-home the gorilla and this guy (the owner) demanded 30 million baht for the gorilla... and that is why the sale is not going ahead because they cannot meet his demands. The govt are also to blame. Years back when this story was huge the govt said they would force through the re-homing of the gorilla but of course after the news died down they did nothing. So sad. I have been to this mall, it is really run down... I can't imagine that the zoo gets many visitors at all. If this guy really cared for these animals he would let them all be re-homed and close it down. Really not sure why the govt don't force it. 2
