Cricket - Australia beat Ireland by 42 runs to boost their hopes of reaching the Men's T20 World Cup semi-finals, and also hurt England's last four chances in the process. After racking up 179-5 in Brisbane - captain Aaron Finch scored 63 from 44 balls - they bowled Ireland out for 137 in just over 18 overs.

Football - Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba will miss France's World Cup defence in Qatar as he needs more time to recover from a knee operation.

The 29 year old, has not played for the Serie A side this season since rejoining from Manchester United in the summer.

Luis Suarez helped Nacional win the Uruguayan championship as he scored twice in a 4-1 win over Liverpool.

The 35 year old, returned to his boyhood club in the summer as a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid and the former Liverpool and Barcelona striker scored in the 50th and the 96th minutes as Nacional won in extra time.

And finally Wales' national football teams could change their name to Cymru - the Welsh name for Wales - after this year's World Cup in Qatar. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) already uses Cymru at its headquarters and in communications and documents. Informal discussions have taken place with European football's ruling body Uefa about a possible change.
