A meeting of the board of narcotics decided to ask the government to suspend the export of sodium cyanide to Myanmar after it concluded large quantities may have been used in the production of methamphetamine pills that were then shipped back into Thailand. 

 

The parents of the 27 year old girl who was killed during the Halloween crush in S Korea on Saturday have said they will borrow 400 thousand baht to bring her body home.

The Thai embassy told the family it would take about 4 days to return their daughter Naticha home.

South Korea is in a period of five-day mourning following the death of 154 people who perished in the tragic event. 

 

Leaders from 18 countries have confirmed their attendance to the APEC summit being held in Bangkok on the 18 and 19th of this month. 

Preparations for security and other events surrounding the meeting will  affect traffic and involve some road closures leading up to the event.

 

A new regular flight from Moscow arrived in phuket yesterday, giving a boost to the island's tourism.

And .. Islanders also found a large whale dead on the beach at Racha island Rawai in Phuket.  There was no indication of the cause of death.

North Korea demanded the United States and South Korea stop large-scale military exercises, calling them a provocation that may draw a "more powerful response from Pyongyang.

The operation, called Vigilant Storm, will run until Friday, and will feature about 240 warplanes conducting about 1,600 sorties.

 

India: Nine people were arrested yesterday in connection with the collapse of a pedestrian bridge in western India that killed at least 137 people.

The nine are associated with a company that maintained the bridge in Morbi and could face charges of  homicide.

The bridge had reopened a few days earlier after months of renovation.

Many Instagram users worldwide reported difficulties last night  with some saying their accounts have been suspended or that the app crashed while loading posts. Instagram tweeted they are aware of the problem.
