The Bang Sue-Wat Samian Nari tunnel has been opened to traffic for the first time today (Tuesday) by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT).

The tunnel will help facilitate travel by car from Bang Sue Grand Station along the road parallel to the Vibhavadi Rangsit Highway to Lak Si, Don Mueang and beyond to Rangsit in Pathum Thani Province.

Construction of the tunnel began in 2020 and was completed some time ago, but it was not ready for normal traffic due to flooding and the theft of electric cables by petty thieves. Repairs were undertaken by the SRT, making it ready to open to traffic today.
