how many people actually get cirrosis of the liver and die from booze? i was surrounded by hard drinkers as a kid and not a single one of them died from liver failure. in fact most of them are still alive now, well into their 80s and still drinking.

As someone who works in gastroenterology at a hospital in the UK, thousands die from it.

There’s also alcoholic liver disease, liver cancer, leukaemia, liver failure, sepsis (you get an infection in the liver at home and it goes septic)

Not to mention that if you are so dependent on alcohol then you have a higher risk of loss of rational thought and risk of developing mental health disorders such as clinical depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, general anxiety disorder etc

have you knocked one off yet Bob or are you washing your pink panties out ...

Are you sure your names not Lilly Smith or something.

You gotta learn to hit the p_ss around 12.00 because that's the best time to relax and start.

If you on it now Bob then that's ok, and a good start ....  and don't forget to get a few for tomorrow because it's bloody hot outside now.

Well just go in moderation and all those old gf memories will come rushing back.

I'm seriously thinking about cracking a bottle of gin open after these beers ....

funny you should mention this, i once heard exactly the same thing from a doctor at a bar who was on holiday in Koh samui with his family. i was worried about my drinking, i asked him does he think im drinking too much and he said you have more chance of getting struck by lightning than dieing from drinking beer every day.

so there you have it! straight from the horses mouth..

You post this then state this ...

"its ok m8. im on it now so may as well open the floodgates!"

Floodgates??

4/5 light beers per day is not remotely a heavy drinker.

Double that amount and perhaps some would classify you as heavy drinker.

I own up to bring heavy drinker however every one is different.

Some (including myself) stopped with flick of switch.

Went heavy to zero.

For the habit side of booze I started drinking Heineken Zero.

Still knocked off 6 a night watching bit of sport/movie etc..

Mind you that has calories so not so flash for weight loss.

Not heavy. Waste of money though. Light beer is overpriced. Dronk 2 real beers a day.

The way you're doing it won't work.

It has been studied many times over.

You shouldn't torture yourself psychologically to lose weight.

Reduce the amount of stuff you eat/drink but allow yourself some pleasure.

Drink half a beer instead of one.

Keep the other half for later instead of having another beer.

Reduce the size of your meals a bit.

AND !!!

Move your body.

Go for a walk every day.

Get sweaty and tired ????

Give it a month or two and you will see the results.

No need to inflict high levels of frustration on yourself.

Counterproductive in the long run.

Dont understand any of that.

For some reason to give up alcohol has nothing to do with money.

More likely a health or lifestyle choice.

5 light beers a day isnt heavy drinking. 270 baht a day times 365 is a fair bit of money though. 99,000 baht a year on weak beer. Thats a 8 week holiday.

Plus getting fat.
