Russian market rebounding strongly to Phuket say tourism officials, expected to be number one for Quarter 4

Phuket, Thailand-According to top Phuket tourism officials the Russian market has rebounded strongly recently and is expected to be the number one market for Phuket for Quarter 4, also called the high season.

 

Mr. Rangsiman Kingkaew, Executive Director of the Phuket Tourism Business Association, spoke with the Phuket Express and had the following to say:

 

“Prior to COVID-19, the Russian market was second for Phuket, behind only the Chinese market.

I suppose they think something is better than nothing, also, being on a salary, do they care?  Just quote big numbers = all is good.. job done..

Yes, probably some of them - who have enough money.

There is a new popular word in Russia now - moGilization (instead of mobilization). Mogila is grave in Russian. As there is a big chance to be easily killed for mostly untrained people.

I think you'll find that there are more Russians in Pattaya than Phuket.   Do you actually live in Thailand?   Regardless, ultimately they are just people wanting a holiday, and given the restrictions of lack of flights, currency and credit card  controls, those who make it must be seriously motivated.

 

Oh, and your other reasons are?
