Ukraine war latest: Putin insists 'things starting to move' - but Ukraine says Russia 'tryin
Vladimir Putin and US officials have been expressing optimism about peace talks. But while Ukraine's president says there is a "good chance" to end the war, he and a key European ally say Russia is attempting to delay negotiations by insisting on various conditions. Russia's 'delaying tactics' must end, Macron says We've now heard from French president Emmanuel Macron, who said he had spoken to Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sir Keir Starmer today to discuss the ceasefire proposal. In an online post, Macron followed in the footsteps of Ukraine's allies calling on Russia to accept the proposal, saying "Russian aggression in Ukraine must end". He also said there must also be a stop to "delaying tactics" - something Vladimir Putin has been accused of after saying there were "nuances" and "lots of questions" remaining over a deal yesterday. In contrast with Trump, Macron's comments echo those of Zelenskyy (see 16.38 post). The French president will join a virtual meeting of world leaders tomorrow, hosted by Starmer, aimed at building on the "coalition of the willing" - the countries which have pledged their support to Ukraine. -

Utter nonsense of the highest order. I remember the riots last summer in the UK. You had people going on twitter promoting blatant racism, whipping up a racist storm (falsely making accussations that a killer was a muslim), promoting violence. Those same people were crying out freedom of speech, and probably contributed to the mass hysteria brewing up to uneducated masses. Musk, Vance and co whinging on about freedom of speech. But as usual it's only when it's something they like and want to talk about. As soon as anyone says something they don't like then suddenly they don't like freedom of speech. You either allow all freedom of speech or not. -

Thai Military Service for my Dual National son.(Not living in Thailand)
The OP should ask the local Thai Consulate or Thai Embassy in London about how his son can relinquish his Thai citizenship. It appears it holds no immediate value or purpose. Then he can focus on the UK residency qualification for British military service. Good luck. It's great to have a teenager who already knows what he wants to do career wise and hoping he can find work or study in the UK to fill his "gap" years before signing up. -
