Kari Lake: Interviewing the election denier who could be Arizona governor

An election-denying former journalist could be the next governor of Arizona. But does Kari Lake truly believe in what she's campaigned on - and will it matter when results of the razor-thin contest are finally called?

It was 54C (130F), but Kari Lake was cool as a cucumber.

Her immaculate hair-do and pristine make-up had somehow defied the sweaty ravages of the summer heat.

As a potential governmenteur she's a $3 bill.  She altered nearly all her positions to appease the leader of Team Orange.

Her strength is that she is engaging to her audience, as personable as a daytime TV talk show host.  Yet another US television personality running for office.

DT loves her.  For now.

Lake is currently behind but it's too close to call as so many votes not counted yet.

There is very slow very careful hand counting going on of Maricopa County votes the largest.

She may win but to me the most obvious outcome will be she will lose and not accept the result as that kind of Trumpy misbehavior is basically her brand.

She is a very slick polished and thus very scary communicator of anti democracy pre-authorisation far right wing extremst ideology.

Katie Hobbs grows lead over Kari Lake in latest returns from Arizona governor's race

Hobbs still narrowly ahead. Lake can.still win but it's becoming more unlikely. Lake making Trumpy noises if it turns out she doesn't win by the normal method of getting the most votes pretty much assured.
