webfact Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Picture: 77kaoded 77kaoded reported that a 61 year old building contractor in Lopburi, central Thailand, returned to her home to find thieves had stolen everything since she was away. A car had been stripped down to its bare bones - it seemed easier to just have stolen it. Sudaporn Thepchartree had been away from her property for a month doing some work in Chonburi. When she returned on Monday she got a terrible shock. Picture: 77kaoded The house in Khok Samrong sub-district on Pahonyothin Road (Route 1) had padlocks removed. The house was a complete mess with four air conditioners, TV, two fridges, fitness equipment and a motorcycle all stolen. Parts of the roof, doors, gates and other items had simply been stripped from the house. But there was worse in a carport area - a car was just a shell. Everything had been stripped from the vehicle that looked like it had been involved in a terrible crash. Picture: 77kaoded The CCTV was not working after a power cut. The owner was too busy to fix it. Police captain Phayap Runghuaphai of the Khok Samrong police was called yesterday to investigate. A video published by 77kaoded as well as many still pictures showed the devastation that greeted the owner on her return from Chonburi. japeriwa Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Are Thais born thieves or what is the problem? 1
jaywalker Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Mayhaps she built a house for the thieves in the past and only installed half roof and forgot to install the AC units? 1

I had two big ponds that we kept good sized, home grown fish....We also had a husband & wife team....She took care of the house & he overlooked the 9 Rai & provided security.... We came back from a trip & I noticed that only the small fingerling fish remained..... NOBODY KNEW ANYTHING...... Somebody had to get past locked gated or walk across 5 Rai to get to those ponds..... Any inquiries fell on deaf ears.... Somebody had a hell of a fish fry & everybody knew but us..... Not much of a real loss - but a very big lesson.... When my wife and I were out house hunting, I passed on a few beautiful homes that would/could have left us extremely vulnerable and in the same situation.... Open season.... 2

When my wife and I were out house hunting, I passed on a few beautiful homes that would/could have left us extremely vulnerable and in the same situation.... Open season.... We had a similar situation on an unsupervised property where the wife had stocked a pond with abut 2000 fingerlings and fed them until they were edible size. It became apparent someone was plundering them on a large scale and eventually a friend who lived nearby caught them at it. He was reluctant to tell her because the thieves were the village druggies and known for violence. It seems they were processing and selling our fish in local markets. We fenced the pond off at great cost (to me), but the thefts continued. Eventually we drained it, caught most of the stock that were left (600+) and transferred them to the pond near our house (as I suggested in the beginning). The S/heads have to steal from elsewhere. 1
