There is no guarantee of a home visit at all.  "They will ask you a number of questions about your symptoms and concerns, and then advise you on the best course of action for you." Obviously, this service functions as a filter to direct people to the proper service. Nothing at all that suggest guaranteed home visits on request.

 

I did a bit of looking around and I think this explanation from one GP's practice sums it up quite nicely:

"You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

A doctor can see several patients in the time it takes to perform a home visit on one patient."

And now we will have The Royal College of Nursing coming out on strike,  two 12 hour strikes the 15-20 of December ,for the first time ever,main reason ,pay and unsafe staffing levels.

Um,is this just another version of the NHS Direct ,where you would ring up, and they would ask your systems ,and give you advice etc, that was/is still, around 15 ?years ago,and it worked to.

You are talking about two different thing there .

I am talking about a visit from the 111 mobile medics .

You are talking about a visit from your G.P Doctor

A doctor and a medic are two different people/things 

Medics are not Doctors and your G.P isn't a medic .

You shouldn't use your G.P in a home visit unless in an extreme emergency , that "rule" doesn't apply to mobile medics

Yes, there are numerous options these days .

The days of calling you G.P from a landline or (going to  hospital for an emergency) and making an appointment in a few days are from a bygone era .

So now you're not claiming that calling 111 guarantees you a visit from a healthcare worker? Because it certainly doesn't. Such a conclusion is warranted just by common sense. The unqualified service you previously claimed existed would be unaffordable on a nationwide scale and not very useful.

Well no, if you phone 111 and tell them you cut yourself whilst shaving , I doubt they would go and visit you .

   If you are ill and you need immediate medial assistance and you are unable to visit a hospital , they will come and visit you at your house .

   If you have an ailment , like a stiff neck , that doesn't need immediate treatment, its then you go to visit your G.P

   I have no idea about the cost effectiveness of it all and the mobile medics are qualified medics equipped with an ambulance full of equipment .

   G.P's are unnecessary these days and it seems they are being phased out

20 years ago the waiting time to see a G.P was important, because back then you only had the G.P or a emergency hospital visit .

   These days there are other options and there's no need to even visit a G.P , so waiting times to visit a G.P are not important anymore .

   You can either go straight to a hospital for non emergency treatment or call a medic to visit you .

   It is a much better system these days and there's no need to even make an appointment with anyone, let along waiting two weeks to see a G.P (unless you have something like minor muscle strain or something )

Takes a lot to get nurses to strike. They have been underpaid for decades because female dominated workforce and wouldn't strike.

I reposted what you wrote because it looks like you didn't even read even once.. Your posts repeatedly claim that medics are at one's beck and call for home visits. That's clearly very far from being the case.

Of course they are not like a taxi and they will not  come when you call them if its unnecessary . although they will come if you require their assistance

Well, it just seemed to me so unlikely that all you had to do was call and a medic would show up at your place. Such a costly service would make no sense. From what I've read, they only show up if you're very infirm and housebound or your symptoms might require even more costly emergency medical service. The NHS does try to steer patients away from utilizing emergency services when that's not necessary.
