Repatriating THB800,000 retirement money to UK.

Featured Replies

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it.

When bringing in THB800,000 for Non O visa based on retirement, is there anything one needs to do to ensure ease of future repatriation?

I know there is an FET certificate, but am I right in thinking that is just for purchasing property?

TIA

If proof it was wired in then you'll be able to send it out via the same bank.

I wouldn't say need to do but may help -

Ask your branch for a copy of the FRC transfer advice for the transfer. (that's what SCB calls it)

Make sure when sending the money that the reason given is not Living Expenses or similar - as this would be expected to be spent.

The FET or FRC covers all foreign currency transactions, not just those for property purchase. You should have no problem remitting the funds overseas, as a long as you prove they were brought into Thailand originally and not earned here.
