AT RAID on a Pattaya club at 3 a.m. this morning (Dec. 3) found around 150 foreign tourists drinking, dancing and smoking hookah with 16 hookah burners seized, TV Channel 7 said.

Pol. Col. Chakraphan Kittisiripornkul, deputy chief of Chonburi police, together with  Pol. Col. Kulchat Kulchai, superintendent of Pattaya City police station, led the team that raided Flexx Club on Walking Street in the wee hours of this morning.

Police have been cracking down on Pattya’s entertaining venues to ensure they shut at 2 a.m. legal closing time. While most complied with the regulation, some remained open with the raided club being one of them.

yes, but maybe if they use them for weed they are legal /o/

It does not make any sense, nothing here does...

I think the recent law change, means you cannot smoke weed in bars or shops that sell weed

What surprises me is that the police are doing a lot of law enforcement at the moment. What has changed? If they keep it up, they might not only find hookahs but even hookers on Walking Street one day.

hookah burners are illegal just like e-cigaretts

besides that - this constant onslaught on entertainment venues is harming tourism, people are getting very angry with the authorities here - it needs to stop now

yeah they are, but if u sell them as weed vaporizers they might not be....

Geez, now they are raiding tourist clubs on Walking St. Great image for the tourists in high season, all clubs being closed around 2am-3am and clubs being raided. Tourists, don't bother coming to Thailand. They don't want you to spend your money here.

But nightlife has to open till 4 am.......What was the nationality of the foreigners btw

They'd be of all different nationalities at Flexx. Mainly African Americans, white Americans, Arabs, Asians.

Agreed. It's getting beyond ridiculous now. Nothing is open, everything is being shut down.

"Detained was the club manager who was charged with operating a club and selling alcohol beyond the shut down time"

Funny how only Flexx had this issue. Insomnia, Myst, and all the other clubs on Walking St were also opened to 3am until the cops came to shut them all down, but none of them seem to have been charged.

So if you buy it somewhere else and go to a different bar to smoke it, its OK? Confusing might be a polite way of putting it?

Why would they be seized......are the illegal here?

Unreal. Glad I enjoyed it when it was legal. Vape pens are illegal too. But weed isn't. Thai Boomers for ya

Things must be serious if the club is named & no attempt was made to censor Fahrenheit from the other fracas.  It's the latest weapon in the police armory; Pay or Be Named.
