Yes very true.

But it's not a regular thing, from where we all come from.

But it goes on all the time here. I have seen it a few times myself here.

Where people will not more over for a rescue/ambulance vehicle.

The vehicles has to under take the sad selfish sods. or cross two  or three lanes to get round the idiots.

They should start to make examples of this type of driver.

and a good candidate would be the one in this thread.

A Policeman, what a joke he is. :bah:

It is to be hoped that one day there will be similar delay for the ambulance in which he is suffering! Particularly shameful for a police officer to behave in such a way. However, that is the Thai police - no shame! No wonder nobody respects them.

This sounds like drunken behavior.

At least they published his name, if nothing else he is publicly humiliated

I'm sorry but all 'inactive posts' have been taken; in fact there is a long waiting list for all positions.

I just wonder in this case what happened to the Police credo "Protect and Serve" ????

I think you forget where you are

Why aren't we surprised? Thia is Thailand, with low penalties and stupidity all the time. Welcome to living in Thailand.

Should be sacked, the miserable POS.

In Thailand the Police credo is to "Collect and Disserve"

Is it safe to say two of the most toxic institutions in Thailand are the RTP and the army? Neither seem to be of much use to the people. The police seem to be the worst, with attitude issues.

Police Colonel Charnchai Bengjantheukwith the Dan Khun Thot force in Nakhon Ratchasima in NE Thailand, is one of them. A thoroughly toxic man, full of himself for no justifiable reason, other than his rank and power. Someone needs to straighten him out.

Where is Charlie Bronson when he is needed?

They should also have published his address, mobile number and Facebook page. His superior should also have condemned this guy in public.

????

He's an untouchable, unrepentant policeman, get over it

And if the patient died?

3 wais

Should be struck off.

But many times with EMS they could just be late for tea.

And using lights and sirens.

Don't worry,Thai society will take care of that.

He will be hunted down on social media and receive curses and threats.

Not only him but his whole family as well.

In many cases like this in Thailand they will also lose their job because the employer also gets haunted.

He nearly ended some one live with his stupid ignorant behaviour

just makes me wonder how many lives he has wrecked already in"

the course of his duty"

He should have provided an escort.

Other countries would have.

But TIT

Just when I thought that uniform couldn't be disgraced any further.

Immediate suspension for this guy and vehicle impounded for a year! Might teach him some basic manners.

This, of course, is inexcusable, but IMO of living in Thailand for over 20 years, I've seen almost NO ONE give right-a-way to vehicles with their emergency lights on and sirens blaring. I, as I was taught, immediately turn on my emergency blinkers and pull over the side, either side, to let the emergency vehicle pass. When I do that, I am usually honked at by the other Thai drivers and they immediately take advantage of the situation to pass me on the road! ????

What are your experiences in situations like this on the highways?

The problem with everyone 'getting over it' is that the perpetrators get away with it.

If true, it doesn't say much for the morality or humanity of the locals.

That, or it suggests their training in how to drive wasn't sufficient enough to issue them a driver's license.

What's the reason for this in Thai society?

It’s not unique to Thai society, some Japanese do exactly the same thing.

So why expect that the ‘unimportant people’ would follow the rules of the road if a police captain is not willing to do so?

He'll get his karma one day. Perhaps he'll be the unconscious woman who is being prevented from getting to a hospital one day.
