Well we got to Bamnet Narong in Chaiyaphum. The journey from Jomtien took 11 hours. We found one charger that didn't work (the first time we had used a charger since having our home charger fitted) wh

Is that your Zeekr 7X AWD charging at 234KW at 77% SOC?

No - a Dutch owner, from this YT clip (https://youtu.be/h4x74P3jYzw?si=_OYBRB-f6inN3Tmg&t=1345)

Thanks. Since you've had your 7x AWD for a few weeks now do you have any pros/cons regarding your 7x driving experience, Zeekr's sales/service, etc? Thanks again.

Range range, I need more range ...

... I don't need no sinkin' long range EV

Not typical, but close to it. Left house @ 0815, @ 100% so our usual stop is on hwy 35, about 3 hrs / 250 kms away from home.

120 kms, 1.5 hrs in ... 'I got to P' cheesy

Where's next CS .... 21 kms / available. Now the dog starts, with the 'I got to sh!t stare & noises .... WTF.

2 kms away, still available ? ... NO

How 'bout across the road ? ... NO, it is Sunday

Check Bangchak/PEA, as I see the sign.

PEA available, and yea, off peak rate ... all 3 within 500 meters of each other, and same Uturn.

Plug in at 60 %, wife goes to P, I walk the dog, and she wasn't BS'ing.

0945/1000 hrs McD's on site, why not. First time in 25 yrs, a 'Big Breakfast', and it was quite good, surprisingly. Wife polished off her double burger, and needs to use the toilet again.

"OK, we'll leave when you get done, and car should be near 90%"

... she checks app, car already @ 96% ... "really"

As she gets back to car @ 99%, we unplug, as someone just pulled in to charge, and that 1% might take a few minutes. Not that we'd wait for 1% any way. Rarely get to >95%

Now we don't need to charge again till tomorrow, on the way to Hua Hin, and by the time either needs a toilet, it will time for brekkie, so top up again, more than need for Hua Hin, and ride back home.

Need one of these every 50 kms. The 2 empty slots just left ...

A few days ago I went to a OneCharge network EV Hub with "twelve" 720KW connectors here in Bangkok. I wanted to play a little with DC charging since I had just got my new BYD Sealion 7 AWD. When I left for the EV Hub about 10 minutes from my western Bangkok home the OneCharge app showed 2 o 12 connectors in use at this EV Hub, but when I arrived around 10 minutes later 11 of 12 were in use and app also now showed 11 of 12 in use---what a difference 10 minutes can make. Anyway, one slot was open which I pulled into to make it 12 of 12 in use. Around half of the EVs were taxis....EV taxis here in Bangkok are multiplying like rabbits.

That person needs some serious anger management therapy....probably also needs some anger management medications...then throw the person in jail!!!

Talks fee/fine when parking in an EV Station charging slot after the charging has stopped. Also talks fees/fines on other Thailand charging networks...and also shows how many chargers in Thailand by major charging network.

One of our hotels had ERGE chargers.

You didn’t need an app, you entered your mobile number on the charger and it sent you an OTP.

Then it asked how much you wanted to load your account (฿10 per kilowatt hour) and it gave you a QR code, you paid that and it started charging.

If you didn’t use it all, it left you that credit on your phone number for next time.

Text/SMS I'm getting from EV Station....parking pentaly being added to the system software.

And when opening the EV Station Pluz app today I was forced to update the app (I last opened it 2 days ago on 7 June). Google Play says the app was updated 31 May 2026 for minor buds/fixes...but I expect the real change is coding parking pentalies into the app.

App dates are often dated days to weeks earlier than their actual availability on Google Play....release in a batch sequence method (i.e., only X-amount per day) to avoid overload of download server) can also delay actual update availability...or the app developer coding the actual release date to be at a date later than the actual updated.

Anyway, make sure you have the latest app uodate to avoid the app not working for you when you need electrons.

Just got another SMS/text saying the EV Station app is now fully functioning.

Or said another way, ready and willing to charge a penalty for not promptly making the charging spot available (i.e.,moving your EV) when charging completes vs being an A-hole by letting your EV hog the space after it completed drinking electrons.

Screenshot_20260609_071209_Photo Editor.jpg

I will be testing EVstationPluz tomorrow here at the hotel as we leave on Thursday and I want a full tank of Electrons to go to Khanom.

There are 3 EVsP chargers here at this hotel (3 phase AC so my SL7 charges at 10+Kw).

I’m currently charging at the hotel with EVstationPluz, the penalty for not unplugging when charging is complete begins after 3 minutes grace period.

Just out of interest when will the electrical infrastructure be upgraded to accommodate the extra anticipated load?

It already has.

Supply outpaces demand, it’s a continuous process.

I appreciate you have a basic knowledge of Electrical Transmission system but it has not upgraded the network. To upgrade for the country will take years not a few months.

Agreed, but flooding the market with enough EV’s to crash the network will take even more years not a few months.

Smart Grid Development Master Plan (2015–2036) and Action Plans (e.g., 2022–2031): This is the core roadmap for grid modernization to handle decentralized generation, renewables, prosumers, and high EV penetration. It includes pillars for Demand Response & Energy Management Systems (DR/EMS), renewable energy forecasting, microgrids/prosumers, energy storage systems (ESS), and EV integration.

It will take time to flood the market with EV's assuming the demand continues. I don't believe the demand will continue though, but that is my opinion. Talking over the weekend to car sales people they said they would never buy an EV despite trying to sell them.

i went over the weekend for lunch to a famous vegan restaurant. they told me they would never eat meat products and would never try to sell them .... can you see how stupid it (your post) sounds ....

Have you been keeping tabs on PEA/MEA infrastructure upgrades? Of course not...no one can do that other that PEA/MEA/the govt. Now I can say in my rides around Thailand I frequently see PEA/MEA installing new wires, poles, transformers, etc., especially here in the great Bangkok area/surrounding provincies.

Chargers are being installed at a rapid pace as the current infrastructure easily support such in many locations. Heck, the continuing construction of buildings, condos, houses, 7-11s, CJ's....more and more A/Cs being installed everyday....factories being built, etc., far exceeds the electrical needs of more EV chargers.

Current electrical infrastructure is easily meeting the electrical requirements of more and more EV chargers. Now that does not mean DC fast chargers will soon be installed anywhere and everywhere simply because DC chargers are not cheap to purchases/install and they are only installed where they make good business sense (i.e., can make a profit).

A sign of the future, and tick tock ICEV ... I'll get a snap tomorrow 🙄

A row of petrol pumps, replace with charging cables. Something didn't look right, and it took a second for it to register. Too funny.

WTF, why, what, huh ... OMG cheesy

Thailand electrical system has improved a lot since I have been here but if it was to accommodate a majority of electric vehicles it would be subject to many black outs. If you are going to argue about transmission system, which is what you are attempting, at least get a grasp of the basics before you do.

I can see you’re committed to your current (no pun intended) level of comprehension.

In the unlikely event you would like to improve your understanding from a level of ignorant to accurate, you might like to review Thailand’s Power Development Plan (PDP 2018-2037 revision 1) which has factored in upper levels of predicted EV adoption as well as it’s switch to renewables.

If you would like a link, I will be happy to provide it.

So I can assume they have a spin reserve of the same level as the operating requirements.

Indeed they do, primarily combined-cycle gas turbines, hydroelectric and increasingly battery electric storage systems under the draft PDP 2024 scaling up to 2037.

Does this increase your understanding of the subject, or would you like an explanation of some of the long words?
