Dyes for clothes

Featured Replies

Me too... I'm looking for sky blue dye... The colour (proper English spelling!!!) has washed out of my favourite (!!!) hat... will follow topic....

Lotus has the blue washing dye. From memory was a 250ml size blue/black plastic bottle.

Bought some by mistake last year, as all the writing was in Thai and the small bottle was in the clothes washing section, and me thinking it was a travel sized bottle of clothes washing liquid.

If you’re looking for blue you can do it naturally butterfly pea flowers. Very simple and easy, but Lazada has dyes if you want to go that route.

I "very interesting" question you propose.

I assumed it was clothes dye as it was in the clothes washing liquid / tabs / powder and clothes conditioner aisle.

However, as Thai supermarkets, Lotus especially, adopt the illogical layout approach; you might have a point.

It didn't smell like loo flush though.

Just tried to find it on their website, Clothes Washing falls under the top level category of "household items and monks"!

I tried to get some years ago from the fabric shop on 2nd Road. Confused the heck out of me as they kept showing me reels of cotton.

Be aware the English word dye, in Thai sounds like Fie (Fay) which means cotton.

So good luck with the blue dye!!
