Thai Labor Law
Just wished to drop a line on how supportive is the Thai Labor department to Foreign employee? I was hired by thai company, manufacturer of bus body. I am a Automotive Engineer certified by the Government of Canada, Licensed under the Department of Colleges and University's of Canada as well as hold a BofScience degree in Automotive design and operation. I was hired after I retired from VOLVO Bus and Truck after 29years of dedicated service. My latest portfolio with this thai manufacturer was to improve the manufacturing processes as well as introduce EV technology. Its been 4 years now that I have spent lots of energy and hours of developing this company's processes. There is a Thai consultant that works with my department, how directly reports to the owner of the company. Bottom line, my experience is vast, my knowledge base is more extensive than his. There is a saying that goes like this " When a new manager is threatened by a longer standing manager, the later is a threat to the short timer, so he tries everything to have the long standing manager removed. He is accusing me of many wrong doings, corruption, theft and the likes. I am afraid my days are numbered, can anyone out there guide to some resolution to this?? Let me know if the thai labor law protects a foreign. -

Friendship Supermarket Closed
They also have specials that other supermarkets don't have. Butter and cheese and honey for example. They were the first to be selling Westgold butter at 80 baht for 250 grams. The big supermarkets followed up with BOGOF at 159 baht or just started at 119 or 129 baht each. They were selling Mainland cheese 500 gram packs for much the same as the price the big supermarkets charge for 250 grams. Honey is another thing. Thai honey at 56 baht where the big supermarkets charge 86 for the same thing. A few here don't know what they are talking about when they insist they are the same as the big supermarkets. They are good in their own right. -

Taxation of worldwide income for Thailand Tax Residents?
I wonder how this would work with the announced Royal Decree encouraging people to remit funds in the year they're earned AND the year after they're earned. Full global taxation if you're a resident for 180 days but not for this year and next year and that would presumably roll on continuously. Does this mean if I make about $150k a year from various income and investments I would need to remit all of that and then how long must it remain inside Thailand before it can be sent back out again to be reinvested? Lots of questions. Would global earnings take into account this new announcement or would the new announcement replace it or are they two entirely different things. I believe an act of parliament would need to be amended to alter the actual tax law itself, not sure if that can be done by a royal decree, does anyone know if it can?
