Earphones.

I generally use earphones when listening to music these days so as to not upset those living around me?

Some seem to get snarky and think I am ignoring them.

Is that a bad thing?????????

If others are upset by your music then what option do you have but to wear earphones?

I use them all the time to avoid clashing with the sounds coming out of my wife's & daughters - using their speakers.....

If they get upset because they think you are ignoring them then take off the earphones and start blasting the music as loud as possible and see how much they want you to put the earphones back in.

 

Who cares if they get snarky. You are trying to be respectful of their space. 

 

If they get overly snarky tell them you are learning to speak Thai with the earphones. A little white lie never hurt anyone.

You don't have to ignore people in the surrounding space simply because you are wearing headphones. The odd smile or eye contact.????

Some of the newer bluetooth models towards the top end of the selection have a function that will filter all other noise except voice. It generaly can be set at variable levels. 

I use it (Sony earbuds) and find it works quite sucesfully with the only downside now being that i cant claim not to have heard the darling wife ask me to do something.

Try Shok OpenRun bone conducting phones..both bases covered.....music that does not disturb others, and having to deal with people.

 

Pricey, but good sound and investment in not getting mown down if outside.

Agreed. Getting mown down, or chowed down by a Soi dog is a constant worry.

Wow, such an accomplishments. May be you did not notice people all around you are also wearing earphones.
