A two-year-old boy in the northern province of Cao Bang was hospitalized Wednesday after being mauled by a neighbor’s dog.

The boy was taken to Cao Bang general hospital with deep gashes on his face and head, along with blood loss, doctors at the hospital said. The father of the boy said he was playing in the yard when the dog attacked. The dog’s species has not been confirmed.

The child had his wounds cleaned and stitched, and they were also inoculated against rabies. The child’s family has asked to transfer him to a hospital in Hanoi for continued treatment.

Poor kid. It didn't say how old he was but it must have been awfully traumatizing. If a dog attacked me I sure would be. The fact that he could communicate with his father about what happened was good. Too bad they can't sue the neighbors or can they?
