They're just playing follow the leader. The US says they will test arrivals from China, The UK says "no plans" for tests. Twenty-four hours later, UK requires tests. The EU said they won't and Von der Leyen herself goes on the record saying it's discriminatory.  Twenty-for hours later, the EU follow the herd. The US sees Xi's U-turn on zero-covid at home as a moment of weakness and plays the the rest of the world.

Why does EVERYTHING have to be a Thai bash?

Very untrue about the US being the first. Individual EU countries  and other countries across the world were all looking at doing this or that for Chinese arrivals, with scientists around the world giving varying opinions about the Chinese traveling and how harmful zero Covid could be to the rest of the world. The only area that has fallen behind is a common approach by the EU bloc.

Apparently not available in Thailand, you might consider after arriving in the US get a vaccination for XBB.1.5 Omicron subvariant that seems to be sweeping the US. Worse effects than Covid-19 and easier to infect.

Yes, I intend to get the new bivalent vaccination as soon as I arrive.

This calculating goverment in china, looks out anybody for 3 years

now when the world get over...they open and cry

and our stupid brainless politicans dont raise any restrictions or only partly

well knowing that chinese hv low infection and low vaccine

normaly stop all chinese traverlers until same level like in the west

Xi is calculating and cold  like ice  , in the knowledge of the result econommicly for the rest of the world

and stupid western politicans thinks russia ís the devil ,truly not

Why not?

China exported covid 3 years ago and it worked very well. PC Western media wouldn't dare to say that Chinese returning from Chinese New Year  brought it to Italy.  WHO even changed the name.

So now they export it again.  And nobody dares to blame them.

Cool.

So we have 5 people that are unvaccinated, 3 in the risk group.

And 2 people that are vaccinated and not in the risk group.

All got COVID.

The 5 unvaccinated people all are still alive and had a flu.

The 2 vaccinated people died.

Interesting. And you are seeing this as an argumentation for the danger of COVID instead of the danger of the vaccinations? Even more interesting. Cognitive dissonance does not know any limits it seems.

No argument from me just stating a fact I am in the danger group and I had 4 shots

What will people do who have already bought, and paid for flights and accomodation that don't have the required number of shots, and plan to arrive in 2 or 3 weeks? The shots have to be at least 1 month apart, and ususally need to be booked in advance.

You don't get it - the fragile ego of the Chinese commie party needs to be stroked, they don't care about anything else.

Please cite "the medical reports," explain what you mean by "the opposite," and what you are referring to as "1 in 800."

Look at my post on the previous page and the link to Worldmetter and the US unvaccinated death rate, it's 1 in 820 people.

my guess is that there will be a sizeable number of unvaccinated people who have already booked holidays, flights hotels etc who either haven't had jabs or will have members of their party without jabs ....or will simply be deterred from coming to Thailand because of this. It sounds like yet another un-researched dictum reacting to rising covid figures without fully assessing the risks and =consequences.

Do we need the travel insurance again

Well, one should always have travel insurance. However, they are requiring COVID treatment cover for those travellers going onwards to a country requiring a negative COVID test prior to entry.

The first flights from China, in the wake of the announcement from China, are scheduled to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport on January 12. So the time for the re-introduction of the measures will be sometime from now until January 12… the Minister was not clear on this.

Time the ministers got their act together before people start arriving on the 12th not knowing what the entry criteria will be?
