Is full body picture a new requirement for visa extension?

Featured Replies

Yesterday I talked to a potential new agent about visa extension requirements and I was told that I have to submit passport, two face photos and a full body picture. The latest raised my eyebrowes and a flag. Does anyone knows anything about this. To me it sounds so suspicious that I am considering not to use this agent.

Ther agent will cost you more money than the interest you were NOT getting on your money in the bank.

Not a requirement 3 months ago.  Does sound a bit silly.

What a terrible thing! Isn´t it just better to give what asked for.

The full body photo is to get around the need to visit immigration to get your photo taken, immigration zooms in and takes a photo of the photo, looks like you visited immigration.. All the agents used to do it, not so much nowadays.

Agent took my photo outside local office sign last time.

For me in Pattaya, Yes.

My agent took 1 photo but needed another to also include my shoes (it's true)

That actually makes sense, as I always wonder why, they take my photo while sitting at IO doing the extension, when I've just given them PP photos.

Proof that you were there ... ????

Sadly the agent scamming has been going on so long, nobody trust anyone any more, not even in the same office.

Even when IO visits your house, he has to take a selfie in front of said house, usually with mailbox in it.  .... to prove he was there ... SAD

You see the same with city workers taking photos of themselves working.

That sounds like the guys that clean my condo pool, they spend more time taking photos of themselves cleaning the pool, than actually cleaning.

Not at all. Agents are the way to go if you can afford it. Close friend used an agent in Pattaya 2 days ago to obtain a bank account, change visa from TRV to Non-O based on retirement and did't need to deposit the funds in his bank account.

He lives in Bangkok, was picked up at Pattaya bus station by agent, taken to bank to open bank account, 30 mins at bank then on to Immigration. Very long line waiting, that was bypassed by agent, straight up to desk, sign the papers, photo taken left in 15 mins. Visa will be ready in 2 weeks.

He has plenty of funds but is not prepared to tie it up in a very low interest bearing account with only 50% available to use for 7 months of the year.

So agents are well worth it if you can afford it to save a lot of time and all the associated problems dealing with Immigration and their constantly changing interpretation of the rules for visas and the stress it causes a lot of people

That's right. My friend is not interested in that aspect of the agent's costs, just the time saving and the hassle free issue of his visa/extension.

As I said in my previous post, he is well off

A lot of time? V a lot of money. It takes one full day for me, no stress I have their list which hasn't changed for 5 yrs. 15-20K saved not using an agent, for one day, once a year.  :coffee1:

Yes it's called corruption.

I went fishing with my wife while the agent took care of everything.

Maybe buy others, not me, I won't give into it. If your not part of the solution, then your part of the problem.

There's no solution for corruption in LOS. A way of life. You not being a part of the problem(corruption) will not change a thing here in Thailand

It changes things for me, they don't try it on, they know it's a waste of their time, trying to.

OK, keep dealing with Immigration. My friend is not interested so uses an agent and pays the appropriate fee for his convenience

So why does he not put the meagre 800k in the bank, at low interest but at least SOME.
