Russia's main oil product is trading way below the $60 price cap as just a handful of buyers keep up trade with the heavily sanctioned nation

If Russia is doing it so tough at the moment why is 5 out of every 6 tourists in Phuket at the moment a Russian.

First of all, the price the Russian government gets for its oil has zero impact on the wages of average Joe in Russia!!!

Secondly, there's more than enough Russians that have money to go on holiday.

Your argument doesn't make any sense at all!

Don't they face the double digit inflation as it's looming everywhere?

First off, not everywhere. The USA for example:

Or Germany:

or France where inflation has declined to 5.9%.

Even Russia's inflation rate is declining. In December it was only 12%.

Anyway, what's your point?

"A lot of Ukrainians"? I'd ask you to back that amazing statement up with a link to a credible source but we both know that would be a waste of time...:coffee1:

Well, "a lot" is one of those terms that can mean pretty much whatever you want it to mean. People who use it are generally trying to avoid facing the hard evidence of actual figures.

easy to spot by their looks.

you can spot a Russian male a mile away, never smile, never an expression, just a blank face.

put 3 Russians at a football game with 60,000 people, they will be spotted within seconds!

Because Thailand is one of the few desirable countries that accept Russians with money.  Russians with money, especially those that can be conscripted, want out of Russia.

Not sure either how the Russians but all the Ukrainians should be now called back wherever they are worldwide. And they are not a few in Europe, not only from the time before the war but also during the humanitarian actions.

And how they have got out when any man 18 - 60 yo was not allowed to travel?

You want women and children, many who fled active combat zones, to be forced to return?  You're quite the humanitarian.

Difficult to get accurate figures, but I assume very few of those Ukrainian refugees are men between 18 - 60.

No need to interview them, easy to tell nationality by looks.

Such a "unbiased" debate about nationalities.  Some of them we like, some of them we hate (not knowing why). Isn't it called racism? Or at least chauvinism?

What's so difficult to understand that somebody with money wants out of his country - whether because of conscription or whatever?

There are zillions here living who also wanted out of their country - from different reasons - and some of the rather "without money". Nevertheless, most of them complaining on the circumstances they are "forced to live here" upon...

How do you "assume"? Do you have any attributes to your assumptions?

If you were able to read a bit news from European countries where there are millions of Ukrainians - and not only women and children - how the citizens are happy to have them around, many of them with thick cars, they see so many around with the UA signs.  (and the unpleasant news despite the strong censorship that's has been established by the EU regimes withing last two years)

And everything free what the citizens would not dream of... And moreover, they (the citizens) are forced to utmost sacrifices because of more and more contributions to the UA war.

The reason it is not only women and children is: The ban on leaving the country does not apply to single fathers, men who have three or more children, and people with disabilities. Students of foreign universities, drivers of humanitarian aid transports, as well as persons with permanent residence abroad are also exempt from the ban

On the paper it looks quite different than in real. Why you do not make a trip in those host countries - if you cannot read the local news - to get the real knowledge?

How else the millions of the people running away from Ukraine can be just as per your paper info?

BTW, the war is not in the whole Ukraine territory, but the refugees are from the whole Ukraine territory, aren't they?

Not the whole Ukrainian territory? It at least extends to Kiev. Not much further west to go than that.

My post answered the question posted:  "If Russia is doing it so tough at the moment why is 5 out of every 6 tourists in Phuket at the moment a Russian. "

I'm not sure what the point is of your post.

Regarding the claims you make in your second paragraph; "How do you "assume"? Do you have any attributes to your assumptions?"

BTW:  Is English your first language? You ask if I have sources to support my assumption in an unusual manner.

So, is your problem my "unusual manner"  or the matter - perhaps for you "unusual"?

Seems that I was not so far when few posts above I spoke about racism or chauvinism. Wasn't that a reaction on your comment?
