Thailand's Immigration Bureau headed by Lt-Gen Phakphoomphiphat Sajjaphan announced the arrest of three South Korean nationals wanted by the police in their homeland for a massive share swindle.

They conned their compatriots out of billions of won that came to 1.6 billion baht.

The Thai police had been contacted by the Korean police through their embassy about three men on the run.

The first. Ye Jun, 51, was arrested back in October in the Pattaya area on overstay.

The same also happened to the other two outstanding gang members - Kim, 54, and sixty year old Yang - who were picked up on Tuesday.

Kim came into Thailand in July and Yang in early August - both were on overstay after not extending their stays.

They were arrested at a golf course in Pathum Thani.

Thai Rath reported that they had been living in a luxury condo in the Sukhumvit Road area before the arrest of their friend in October.

They were businessmen in the textile trade who persuaded compatriots to invest in fraudulent share schemes.

They fled to Thailand with the proceeds.
