When?

2013

That was ten years ago, to state the obvious, this is 2023!

I opened a savings account and a current account, with a cheque book, using just my passport at BBL HO in 1995 but I couldn't do that now.

Hua Hin Immigration has a separate window (behind the normal building) for creating these residency certificates.  That window (and the next door copy and photo shop) are very efficient, and will have it all done within 30-60 minutes.  Do you really need to stand in the usual line at Jomtien Immigration to get the Residency Certificate?

This is a great idea! All he needs to do now is spend 12-14 hrs driving time plus a short 30-60 minute wait. ????

I've three accounts with Bangkok Bank and they were not so insistent on the visa class but really wanted a work permit. I'm on an O and could bicker but I just bring the wp and boom done. I'll only have it another few years max.

Try bringing in a decent sum to open. 250k that might help
