In an email this morning from the Post Office,

'We're also proud to team up with the Trussell Trust

once again this year to help fight UK hunger and poverty'.

While billions are sent to Ukraine to fight Russia.

Excess deaths in UK are now 20.4% above 5 yr average.

From ONS gov.uk.

The NHS is collapsing.

The economy is managed by lunatics with war the only solution.

And it was minus 4 last night, come and enjoy.

most govts are doing a lot of positive things.

streets are mostly safe.

society is reasonably functional.

'poverty' is a relative thing.

a lot of people are trying to live like the freakin' Kardashians.

The UK has quite a generous benefit system - there`s no excuse for anyone going hungry . Poor money management is probably the cause .

Expand

If you think you can survive on £70 a week on unemployment benefit with food costs going up along with heating costs on average £2500-3000 you are joking...it's either food or heat for those breadline...generous...what a joke...

My UK place in 20/21 for gas/electric about £1700...now 22/23 it will hit £3000 a year for same useage.

..in that case the forum would be closer to North Korea than an open forum for expression of opposing opinions ?

A sentence from my link above from the BoE

"We expect inflation to fall back from the middle of next year, and be close to the 2% target in two years' time."

Expand

It’s an expectation that is easily achieved.

Inflation is measured over a 12 month period.

In mid 2022 the inflation rate was calculated on the difference of mid 2021 (low prices) and mid 2022 (high prices) - large difference = high inflation.

In mid 2023 the comparison will be against mid 2022 high prices.

Putting aside some catastrophic event(s) inflation will have fallen, but prices will still be at their inflated level.

Almost all of the critics of the spending on the Ukraine are either left wing radicals from the 1970's that time has left behind, who pay little tax. On the contrary, they usually are of the people supported by the state, which puts their criticism in context.
