Define Bar girl

IMHO there is in principle nothing wrong with bar girls. It is their job to make you happy. And some of them are very good in that job. It's up to you if you want that girlfriend feeling or the porn star experience. Or maybe the girlfriend feeling for dinner and the porn star performance at home. Enjoy!

And if you meet a "normal" girl don't think she is not interested in someone who is willing to spend a lot of money to make her happy. It doesn't have to be cash, a nice apartment and car will be fine.

Girl friend experience is the easy part as long you are there, the problems starts with long distance relationships, and transform holidays to normal days, and normal budget to a decent wife!

Many have tried it, many have failed, many fake it, and some few succeeded!

Up for a mental challenge and roller coaster, a thai girl is the answer no matter bar girl or not, because you will never be sure!

Well if you marry a bar girl, then you should lower your expectations, right? So anything good will be a positive when proving others wrong! A win win

These days it seems covered with nasty tattoos and teeth braces they think are cute ???? Sometimes look at the pics of them on the stickman site and wonder why anyone would be desperate enough to pay for any of them.

Sometimes not all but sometimes males dont always make the right decisions ,they not all the time are in conflict with their two heads .Add to that mind altering drugs or drink !

No-alcohol, ever; same with her boyfriend and his family.

And to simplify things in case someone's hoping, there's no bar in our town of 9,000; no pub, no licensed premises. Never had an explanation, it just 'is'.

Suits us just fine.

So 'daughter speaks English' completely irrelevant to the thread.

True, I barfined a girl from Patpong in 96. When I got her out in more light I was so put off I dodged away into the market and did a runner, rather lose the 400 baht than have taken her back, seemed far more attractive in the low lit bar!

"the other day I went to grab a beer with a coworker at a staple western looking Bar on Ekkamai, and I saw one or two attractive (but nothing over the top) girls alone sitting and sipping a beer. Would they also be considered as "bar-girl"? Or just having a beer after work of sorts."

How can we know, you should have talked to them to find out.

"Grab a Beer"

a. Grab girls are NOT B-girls

b. Girls who drink Beer and Girls who are B-girls are subsets

c. Thai bar girls who drink with farang are a small subset

Psychologically speaking, the term GENERALIZATION is applicable here.

There is a small, though quite objectionable, subset of newly-arrived tourists who suffer from generalization.

They step off the plane and immediately begin to salivate upon seeing a person they deem to be female.

Yet, they are completely ill-equipped to distinguish B-girls from Ladyboys, or, most likely, prefer not to.

This is the principal reason I choose to not live in an area frequented by other farang, as well as tourists of any ilk.

This psychological construct of GENERALIZATION, which seems to overly infest most male tourists, makes life too difficult for us normal locals.

My advice is to get educated.

Otherwise, you will soon embarrass not only yourself, but also most of the good people around you.

Unfortunately, there is still a very high percentage of people here who have not yet realized that there is a lot more to this country than bars and their associated activities.

That's what they came to TH for, that's what they want ...

... thankfully, they don't venture far from their barstool ????

There's nothing wrong with that of course, and Thais have designated tourist ghettos for them.  As long as they don't stray too far off the reservation, everyone is happy.

Tourist Ghettos?

Nice one!

I was in a crowded bar in Seam Reap with a couple of pals.

3 local ladies walked in and sat down, I called the waitress over and said 'give those girls each a beer' (big spender as beer was 50c/glass). 30 seconds later the girls were sitting on our laps.

Yep!

The game works both ways!

One of my favorite bar girls is an accountant. She said the salary was just not enough to afford a decent school for her son. She found a rich sponsor who pays the school.

When reality strikes well-laid career plans.

Exactly.  Even in the West!  "Sugar-Daddy" is not a new term.
