RAZZELL Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Back in the "real world" I used to love going to Auctions, car boot sales and flea markets. Despite exploring a lot of Bangkok I am yet to find anything similar? Are there any auctions of collectibles/household goods etc? (I know River City sometimes has Antique auctions) Markets - only found some interesting stuff at Bang Sue Jct. Flea markets - nothing good. Any suggestions? RAZZ
Popular Post proton Posted February 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 9, 2023 when you do see them the prices they want for old stuff is laughable 1 2
NativeBob Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Even 20+ years ago flee markets at Charoen Krung and Yowarat incl. Saphan Lek and nearby were pathetic. Nowadays there's nothing left, except real garbage at premium prices. Walk from Saphan Kwai junction toward Chatuchak on weekends? Sorry but nothing as well. (TBH amulets only). 1
dddave Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 If you don't mind travelling to Jomtien, Collingbourn Auctions has weekly auctions at their Chiayaphreuk Rd. warehouse. Items listed on their website. I went one time, nothing special but that was last year. https://www.collingbourne-auctioneers.com/ 1
Popular Post Denim Posted February 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2023 There used to be a very good one in the car park on top of Pantip Plaza 2 on Ngam Wong Wahn road just down from the mall. Only on weekends. Impossible to park there so park elsewhere. Painthip 2 has different floors dedicated to different things. 1st floor phones, 2nd floor amulets 3rd floor computers etc. Excellent food court there too. I used to buy vintage items here to sell online for profit. Here is a video of the store. The Flea market section begins at 13.45 minutes in. Closed during covid so not sure if re opened yet 2 1

rak sa_ngop Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 If you take the MRT to Kamphang Phet on the otherside of the road opposite the south entrance to Chatuchak Market is a newish mall with lots of old 'antique' stuff for sale. Outside the mall is the more junky stuff, better stuff is inside. Cant remember the name if the building (NOT JJ Mall) but cross over the road using the pedestrian bridge outside the MRT exit. 1

It's called Bangsue Junction. A couple of good watch dealers on the ground floor.
