Thai Rath Thai caption: "No entry - crime scene"

Thai Rath reported on a series of incidents over the last two days in which a jealous husband threatened his wife then went to her house, shot her father, set fire to the property before firing on police.

They shot at him hitting him four times - he died in Kalasin Hospital.

The incidents began on Thursday at 8.30 pm in the Yang Talat police jurisdiction of Kalasin, NE Thailand, when Suphat Sutthichum, 40, went to the home of his wife Pornphirun, 37, and threatened her with a gun.

She fled on a motorcyle and drove herself deliberately into a klong in an effort to escape. Her mother reported the incident to the Yang Talat police.

Police took the wife to the sanctuary of a relative's house overnight.

Yesterday evening at 7pm Suphat returned to the house and shot at her father Wichian, 56, injuring him in the shoulder.

He then set fire to the home.

Police arrived and told him to put the gun down as they tried to calm the situation.

Suphat fired multiple times hitting a patrol vehicle and the officers responded hitting Suphat four times.

He was taken to Yang Talat Hospital then transferred to Kalasin Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His wife said they had been together for three years and had one child. She described him as hot headed and jealous.

She described him as hot headed and jealous......So WHY Did She Marry Him ? The Warning Signs were there !!

1. It is very, very refreshing to see the police do actual law enforcement work. Good on them for relieving this woman of the vermin.

2. Why on earth did she marry him? Didn't she have any indication of his lack of character, before she tied the knot with this dead fool? Surely there must have been signs.
