The police need all the good publicity they can get just now - whether they deserve it or not.

  • He has a prosthetic lower right leg, so probably not been on the 'run', more of on the 'hobble'.

  • If only he had been doing his 90 days reports they would have nabbed him years ago ????

  • Must be hundreds of wanted Brits in Thailand.  Seems this is where they come to hide.

So, pray tell, which country of wonder, grace, sophistication and beautiful people were you vomited from? Please enlighten us all.

After all, we British are all, 'a rough bunch' to be likened to pigs.

Whatever country you originate from, I could use a much more disparagingly appropriate term of distaste.

'Flag eight', Northstart!

Aww, listen to you.

So vehmently proud and easily slighted.

How quaint.

The articles said he had a prosthetic leg but was "on the run" - Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius anyone?

Why would British police escort people off a flight in handcuffs arriving in the UK for overstaying in Thailand for a couple of days?

I think you will find that in some cases when you get deported from Thailand you are in handcuffs! Of course only when you have paid any fines and costs incurred in the deportation. It has also been known for someone to just get taken to the nearest boarder in handcuffs and kicked out (I remember a case well over a decade ago where a guy lost his temper over a bill and throwing money at whoever and some landing on the floor!!! Police did not take kindly to this and slapped him in handcuffs taking him to the nearest border).

Not very smart though, since they have an extradition agreement with UK in place...
