People living in Thailand’s north-eastern province of Chaiyaphum have been advised to exercise caution over the food that they and their children consume, to make sure that it is properly cooked and contains no raw or half-cooked ingredients, due to the recent spread of Norovirus.

More than 300 students at four schools in the Mueang district have been taken to hospitals since Tuesday, several of them have been admitted for treatment after falling ill with stomach aches, diarrhoea, vomiting and nausea.

Lab tests of fluid specimens have confirmed the presence of Norovirus, said Dr. Wachira Botphibul, the provincial health chief, adding that the virus is commonly found in ice.

Could I have properly cooked ice, please?

That's funny because where I come from it's commonly found in the air after someone else pukes

We seem to be becoming a virus obsessed world. And that is not a good thing. Just more paranoia and fear.

Just say no to virus paranoia! They are everywhere. The whole planet, and our bodies have billions of bacteria. So what?

Recently got this Norovirus at a ski resort.  Half the (huge) hotel guests went down with it, nothing to do with the food.  36 hours having to be near a toilet was not a pleasant experience, puking at the same time of course.
