Huai Krachao police in Kanchanaburi, western Thailand, were alerted to a collision between a sedan and a six wheel truck at the Don Ta-in intersection on Rt 3363 leading to minor road 4027.

A Mitsubishi Attrage and a Fuso truck carrying straw were both driven off the road.

The driver of the truck, Sunan, 58, was only slightly injured and was taken away to the police station for questioning.

His truck had a broken windshield and other severe damage to the front.

The Attrage had damage principally to its left side. Dead in the passenger seat was 40 year old Chanapha originally from Kanchanaburi who had to be cut out.

She had suffered head injuries and a lung rupture from broken ribs.

The driver Chollada, 29,  from Nakhon Sri Thammarat was only slightly hurt.

Police said that the deceased was the owner of the car and a younger relative was driving.

They were on their way to the funeral in Nong Prue of a grandfather and only had a few kilometers to go after a cross country journey, reported Thai Rath.

The collision occurred in the middle of the intersection with both vehicles leaving the road and ending up in a field.
