Fishing boat blockade causes chaos for tourist heading to Koh Lipe

 

A protest by local fishermen on Wednesday has resulted in the blockade of Pak Bara Pier on Koh Lipe, causing a loss of 10 million baht per day in tourism revenue for Satun province, according to Samart Jaroenrit, president of the Tourist Business Association of Satun.

AFTER two suspects arrested in Suphanburi said the large number of live monitor lizards and carcasses found at their slaughterhouse were to be sent for consumption along Thai-Cambodian border at Trat, vendors at a large border market denied both Thais and Cambodians living in their area consumed such meat, Thai Rath newspaper and Sanook.com said.

Suspect In Student Visa Scam Nabbed

THAI MAN was arrested Mar. 2 on the charges of defrauding the parents of students studying at a well-known international school by offering to get student visas for a fee but cutting them off upon receiving the initial payment, TV Channel 7 said.

Thailand’s dry season officially begins on Sunday

Thailand will enter this year’s dry season on Sunday and it will be hotter than last year, with average high temperatures forecast at 35.5oC and 40-43oC in Tak, Sukhothai, Lampang and Mae Hong Son provinces.
