How soon can I get a visa extension.

Featured Replies

I did a land border run from Malaysia & was given 45 days, I have until the 28 March, I am thinking of applying for an extension & was wondering how soon can I apply, I'm sure I read that you can do it a week before, but I would like to do it sooner.....

Thanks

Not according to Jomtien Immigration, at least not today. In the past you could. Today they only allow you 7 days in advanced of the expiry of your entry stamp. See this thread:

Not according to Jomtien Immigration,

You ran into a clerk on a power trip.

There have been numerous reports of obtaining 30 day extensions at many immigration offices including Jomtien even much earlier than 2 weeks prior.

There is no set rule on this , depends on the office, time of year, mood of officer, etc.
