Patong fight between restaurant staff and foreign tourists

 

A group of foreign tourists is being sought by the police after they assaulted staff at a restaurant in Soi San Sabai around 1am this morning. According to reports, the tourists, who are believed to be Jordanians and at least one Egyptian, were drunk, agitated and unruly when they were asked to queue properly.

Thai Drivers Urged to Pay Overdue Traffic Fines by April or Face Multiple Penalities

Thai authorities have called on Thai drivers to pay their traffic fine tickets by April 1st. Those who remain overdue on their payments for 30 days will be fined 2,000 baht and have their driving scores cut.

Police thwart attempt to pull 176 million from bank account

A Cambodian national has been arrested by police in Bangkok for using a fake passport to obtain a new bank passbook. The passbook is believed to be for a bank account with 176 million baht in savings, which is thought to belong to a call centre gang.

British and Korean arrested by Pattaya police after attack and theft at prominent marijuana shop

Senator Upakit met Narcotics Bureau investigators pursuing money laundering charges against him

Senator Upakit Pachariyangkun gave a press conference recently in which he denied all the allegations against him which are linked to the arrest on 17th September 2022 of Myanmar tycoon and military junta associate, Dr Tun Min Latt and the 61-year-old senator’s son-in-law Dean Young Gultula who have been charged before the courts with drug trafficking and money laundering offences.


Interestingly, after being confronted with charges by the investigators which he refused to acknowledge, Senator Upakit Pachariyangkun was taken to have his fingerprints checked and a background search conducted.

Over 3,400 people in Chiang Rai treated for respiratory conditions last week

More than 3,400 people in Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Rai, including 372 in Mae Sai district alone, were treated for respiratory conditions between March 19th and 26th, as they struggle to cope with choking air pollution caused by forest and farm fires.
