Two underage girls, one only 14-years-old, were rescued from a karaoke shop in Bangkok following a police raid. The victims were confined at the venue and forced into prostitution, according to police.

Bangkok Police led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Thiti Saeng, commander of the Metropolitan Police, raided a karaoke venue located on Soi Songprapha 12 in Bangkok’s Don Mueang district after receiving a tip from informants that the venue was involved in human trafficking of female children.

During a search, police rescued two underage girls, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old, from the venue, and arrested the 42-year-old owner of the shop, Ms. Naruemon (last name withheld by police).

Wow. 14 years old. One had to wonder what the circumstances were that led her to this place. Was she kidnapped? Was she a sex slave from Burma? One wonders.

I wonder how true it is

Trafficking and using a 14 year old is despicable.

Now this is terrible and this is real underage trafficking! Filled with sadness at a child of 14 being held against her will and sold as no more than a sex slave and same goes for the 17 year old infact any age is despicable but it's not new in Thailand and there are several books written exposing it. Now this is what gofundme should be used for so these girls can have their lives rebuilt with a secured future.

According to the full story she has been arrested on similar charges before.

It also went on to say they some had managed to escape but some remained as they were indebted to the 'shop'.  Some of Age are also indebted to the bars they work in. just saying.

I have heard of Falang having to Buy their GF from a bar before allowing them to leave fulltime.

Good question. I think it is a good general rule of thumb, to question anything and everything the RTP says and reports. After all, what have they ever done to earn our respect and trust? Ever?

Same applies to the media here.

There is no excuse for holding someone against their own will and forcing them into prostitution.
No matter what their age is, it is the same as Kidnapping.
The people who have done this should be locked up and condemned to forced labor.

The younger people are hardly indebted.
It are their parents or the people who are supposed to take care of them who get indebted and if they sell a kid because of this they are as guilty as the people who take advantage of them and shall be punished as well..
