Huge crowd piles pressure on Dutch government to seek an end to Israel's campaign in Gaza
Really? In all honesty, I don't think the vast maJority of them are 'siding with Gaza'. I think its more likely that they are siding with humanity. Israel has no right to place a blockade on food, water and medical supplies, that is totally against international law. Like most, I was appalled at Hamas's brutal 7 October attack but Israel's response has massively exceeded what could be termed as retribution. They have turned Gaza into rubble and reportedly killed over 50,000 Palestinians - do they think such actions will end terrorism? I rather think it will make it worse. As Antonio Guterres stated shortly after that Hamas attack, it didn't happen in a vacuum. He was widely misquoted on that speech with Israel claiming he was supporting terrorism - well it suited them to say that. They constantly bang on about anti semetism etc. - where do they think that stems from? Could it be that Palestinians are sick of Israel's constant land grabs and their 'policing' of what are clearly, Palestinian territories? I doubt that it will ever be possible to change the sick minds of hardline muslim radicals but I honestly believe that the vast majority of Palestinian people simply want to live in peace. The also want the international community to guarantee them a defined state that they can run and defend themselves. By all means, Israel has a right to go after Hamas and all the other hardline groups but it does not have the right to kill thousands of innocent people. It does not have the right to starve millions of people or deny them basic medical facilities. This is what the world sees and I believe the vast majority of people are just as appalled at Israel's actions in this matter as they were by Hamas's 7 October attack - moreso actually because its ongoing. The Dutch are protesting in an effort to pressure their government into action against Israel. I would go further, if it was within my gift I would send in a UN military force to stop what's going on. The UN needs to be the one to sort this out - and sort it out forcefully. It was initially the British, then The League of Nations and finally the UN that facilitated the creation of Israel - it should be them that sort ot the mess that action created. No matter what the history, both sides need to accept the existence of the other and territorial boundaries should be determined (by the international community) and strictly enforced. Finally, if Israel (Netanyahu) thinks its ridding the region of Muslim terrorist groups by its actions - 'wiping them out' as it says, its totally wrong. What it's actually doing is serving as a recruitment agency for them. Consider this - if you're a 14 year old boy in Gaza who's just seen his entire family blown up and crushed under a collalsed building in an Israeli missile attack - how are you going to feel? Where will your alleginaces lie? How would you fight a well armed and backed, modern military force? In the open as an army where you would be slaughtered or by bombings and other terrorist style attacks? The whole situation in Israel/Gaza needs to be sorted out by the international community - in particular the more moderate Muslim countries (but without the US who will never be impartial) and a policed settlement imposed on both parties. That will however, never happen and we will be reading about this in another 50 years. One of the main reasons it won't happen is I believe, because of the US's support for Israel - way too much self interest for them to be impartial and/or pragmatic. There will certainly be no settlement until Trump is out of office and his 'Mediteranean Riviera' stupidity is gone. Can't believe that even that lunatic was stupid enough to even pose that thought amidst the current situation. Thousands dead and injured, war raging and Trump thinks abour property development - thank god his clock is ticking. -

Do you still read books?
It's one of my favorite movies, just watched the second one again last week, and I've researched him for a long time. I wouldn't say 90%, but there are inconsistencies and exaggerations. Only one who really knows is him. -

How did your dad influence your life
But in reality you have over 7,000 posts, nearly all of them whingeing and completely forgettable. So what your dad taught you about listening obviously had no positive outcome.
