Chonburi’s popular Bang Saen Beach and the surrounding roads are covered in litter discarded by Songkran holidaymakers.

I think they are comfortable being surrounded by rubbish! Someone will pick it up! :jap:

Household waste collection, where we live, is excellent......always on time, once a week without fail......anything bagged up and left outside is collected.................go for a walk and there are big, black bin liners dumped all over the place ..........?????? What is wrong with people?

Our Chok Chai in Pattaya gets collections of bins Monday, Wednesday and Friday - EVERY WEEK - and the community has no litter on the roads. Get 10 feet outside the gate and it is absolutely filthy. As I have said before it seems that for a huge amount of the Thai people, the bin is anything just outside the passenger window.

The problem just about everywhere here is waste disposal.   Human and garbage.  Not enough garbage cans or toilets.  If all seems like a way distant afterthought.  Just have big events, but no prep for waste.

So,  blame it on the people but what can they do?  Try having plenty of support facilities available and see what happens.

Pattaya has many events on the beach which thousands attend yet there are no toilets except in the bars !

This is close to Bangkok…..the few times I have been there, it’s been strewn with trash ….anyway, Songkran generates tons of trash everywhere.

Didn't this happen last year.

Ah well, falangs can't get the blame for once..... still a shortage of receptacles or clean up going on is there?

The photo could be almost any soi in Thailand; throw in tons of dog dirt and millions of gallons of urine and it's just amazing there aren't more pandemics sweeping the country.

Thai logic; wear masks but ignore crash helmets!
