Rayong — A thief robbed a gold shop in Rayong province today and stole dozens of gold necklaces before escaping.

The incident happened around noon Friday, April 19th, at the Premium Gold Shop located in a crowded department store in Rayong province.

The male suspect marched into the store brandishing a pistol before climbing on top of the front counter and snatching dozens of gold necklaces from the shop’s front cabinet, according to a CCTV recording.

Maybe those ancient style gold shop owners will start employing guards for a change or invest in better security now that the price of gold is at $2000 oz.

There was a time when the was a Police officer or some sort of armed security out in front of the gold / jewellery shops.

Maybe they thought it was an expense they could do without.

Four gold shops inside Big C in my area, all open fronted and fully accessible by customers.

The first one is 50 meters from the main door.

A guard [un-armed] walks around all day, mostly drinking pepsi in an opposite cafe.

Time these shops got wise to robbery.

That's the trouble with having to many pistols to brandish in a country that shouldn't need any ????

Maybe it’s a way for cheap advertising cause seems there is a very high percentage of thief’s caught..

Already a warrant out for his arrest, not too difficult for the police this one.

Well for a start these gold shops in shopping centers always seem to be as close to the entrance as possible, and no security screens to prevent anyone from jumping over, they seem to be asking to be robbed.

Seems an easy one to rob, have they re-stocked yet ? asking for a friend. :whistling:
