A suspect is at large following a shooting Friday night at a home in Cleveland, Texas, that left five people, including an 8-year-old child, dead, authorities said.

Four of the victims were found dead inside a residence on Walters Road in the Trails End area, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

The child died at a hospital.

Well, the gun that was designed to kill as many people as possible in a short period of time has once again shown to be very successful in living up to its designer's goal.

I agree they don’t have an appropriate Imogene for your post so I’m expressing my agreement with this so sad and unessary we need stronger laws

Millions and millions of gun owners

shoot weapons in a safe responsible way.
Again why punish millions and millions of responsible citizens who obey the laws.

Because the statistics prove otherwise.

These laws are in place to protect both gun owners and other people.

Yet again, statistics suggest otherwise.

Women lying on top of the children, protecting them. The scene sounds horrific but is almost part and parcel of everyday news in the US.

Even FOX is publishing polls asking for more regulations.

The OP is another tragic story of mass shootings with the weapon of choice, the AR-15.

Call me a cynic of Fox's display of civic goodwill, but I thought it was notable that Fox have been very selective in their display of results of their poll.

They have quarantined the positive poll results against gun violence in one graphic from the also positive result of banning assault weapons and grouped it with a negative result for carrying guns and also re-jumbled the header and font size.

Obviously there is no logical reason not to show all these results together except for disguising the real perception of assault weapons in the US.

"Two of the women who were killed were found lying on top of the surviving young children in a bedroom, “trying to protect them,” Capers told The Post by phone from the scene.

All five victims were shot in the head, Capers said.

“It’s horrific,” Capers said. “No one should ever have to look at this scene, the blood, the trauma that went on in that house.”

Just the other day:

Colorado governor signs 4 gun control bills after massacre

DENVER (AP) — Colorado’s [Democrat] governor signed four gun control bills Friday, following the lead of other states struggling to confront a nationwide surge in violent crime and mass shootings, despite a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that expanded Second Amendment rights.

Before the ink was even dry on Gov. Jared Polis’ signature, gun rights groups sued to reverse two of the measures: raising the buying age for any gun from 18 to 21, and establishing a three-day waiting period between the purchase and receipt of a gun.

...

The new laws, which Democrats pushed through despite late-night filibusters from Republicans, are aimed at quelling rising suicides and youth violence, preventing mass shootings, and opening avenues for gun violence victims to sue the long-protected firearm industry. They were enacted just five months after a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club in Colorado Springs.

OK, and this will stop violent gun crime committed by criminals getting guns illegally how ? Black gang member kill far more - mostly of each other - with illegal fire arms than mass shootings. Cracking down on obtaining faire-arms is not the issue - its the criminals with them that is the bigger threat

I was just listening to an American news broadcast.  Apparently, this guy is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous.   The reward is something like $80,000.

Too many guns, not enough regulations:

Rene Arevalo Sr., who lives a few houses down, said he heard gunshots around midnight but didn't think anything of it.

"It's a normal thing people do around here, especially on Fridays after work," Arevalo said. "They get home and start drinking in their backyards and shooting out there."

I am pretty sure they had a gun.  It appears that everyone around there did, but when someone shows up with an assault-style weapon, you might as well have a butter knife.
