Popular Post snoop1130
Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who is currently living in self-exile in Dubai, must serve his sentence in prison, not house arrest, if he returns home to Thailand, caretaker deputy prime minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said. Wissanu responded to Thaksin’s latest Tweet, in which he vows to return home before his 74th birthday on July 26th, saying the former PM must be imprisoned if he did return. Thaksin tweeted that he is willing to go through the legal process in exchange for him to be home with his family and his grandchild. Popular Post MrMojoRisin
If Thaksin manages to successfully return to Thailand it would mark the utter defeat of those who have schemed to overthrow democracy since 2006. What a wasted two decades. The only consolation… the eventual victory for democracy is now confirmed as resounding and unequivocal. What a slap in the face for Prayuth, he is going to spend the rest of his days having to watch Thaksin being fawned over and adored by the masses on a scale that he could only dream of for himself. ???? 6 2 2 2

Shhhhh.... Too many have forgotten or dismissed this reality. Sadder yet, we shouldn't be expecting any such criminal charges of the like to be acted upon among the incoming coalition of opposition circles. All will be forgiven and brushed aside. 2
Popular Post OneMoreFarang
As usual Thaksin talks a lot and then he is a coward. He never had to leave Thailand. He could have returned any day since (I think) 17 years. He could have shown up in court and he could have explained to us why he is innocent. He didn't. He knows he is guilty. And he knows he will be arrested on arrival. This is why he just talks and doesn't come back. 6 5 2 3 2

Do you believe that Thailand is a state under the rule of law? I don't. Guilty or not, if I were Thaksin, I never would give myself in the hands of coup makers like the beloved general and his watchmen. 6 2 2
Popular Post Vampyteuthis
You know its possible to believe Thaskin deserves jail and be against the military coup that ousted him, bit nuanced I know but the reality is more complex that how you would read it from the comments on here. 3 1 1 1

I am sometimes surprised that some rich and famous people are found guilty. And sometimes I am surprised that they are found innocent. Thaksin had more than enough time to show lots of evidence for lots of cases that he is innocent. He didn't. And lots of evidence exist that he is guilty in multiple cases. He ran away and we can't change that in the hindsight. And he didn't show up in court. Should we now pretend nothing ever happened and he is innocent? Is that the signal which we want to give all politicians: Run away and later all is forgiven. Sure not! 3 1 1 1

He wouldn't be the first Thai politician to serve a sentence as finding ways to send political enemies to prison seems to be a hallmark of third-world and developing "democracies." This is a power struggle so evidence doesn't matter. There's been lots of evidence that the current bunch of dinos are up to their ears in "irregularities" but do they get tried for it? Of course not, so please don't insult our intelligence by talking about evidence. Thank you. Why can't any of you simply list the criminal offences that you believe Thaksin to be guilty of (and supply links to supporting evidence)? You guys never ever ever answer that one simple question, never. What on earth do you think you are achieving by posting falsehoods? Nobody believes the nonsense. No one. So why do you bother... why do you choose to remain factually incorrect and at odds with reality? It is obvious to everyone that you guys also constantly ignore the wrongdoings of Prayuth and his junta buddies because, again, the truth doesn't fit your bizarre narrative. Thaksin and Yingluck and Thanathorn faced trumped up charges because they were electorally superior to the unpopular anti-democracy minority.
