Bail denied for Polish murder suspect in Bangkok, Thailand

A court in Bangkok, Thailand, denied the bail request of the Polish tourist accused of murdering and dismembering his Ukrainian girlfriend at a high-rise condo last weekend.

 

South Bangkok Criminal Court denied bail to 25 year old Jan Jerzy Lagoda-Filippow, citing that he is a flight risk since he already tried to flee the country for Cambodia once.

Lagoda-Filippow was arrested on Monday evening at the Khlong Luek Border Checkpoint in Aranyapratheth district, Sa Keao province under suspicion of murdering and dismembering 25 year old Alona Savchenko of Ukrainian nationality.

 

The suspect allegedly stabbed Savchenko in the chest and mutilated her body with a handsaw on the 32nd floor of the Key Sathorn-Charoenraj condo building in Bang Kho Laem district. Her head was “nearly dismembered.”

A taxi driver who picked up Lagoda-Filippow on Monday afternoon said that the tourist asked him to help finish dismembering and disposing of his girlfriend’s body via Google Translate.

 

The taxi driver informed the condo’s security guard of the Polish man’s strange behaviour leading to the discovery of Savchenko’s body. An autopsy reveals that Savchenko was killed at least 24 hours before her body was found.

 

The victim worked as a marketing specialist for an Estonian firm. She graduated from Zaporizhzhia National University in Ukraine with a BA in English language and literature and completed a business course at the Guangdong University of Finance in China.

 

Lagoda-Fillipow owns an advertising firm registered in London.

In most countries, that would go without saying. It says a lot about the Thai legal system that the fact he's denied bail is newsworthy.

Personally I would call on a taxi driver, as first option, to assist in dismembering and disposing of a body. Note to self........

what a shame, shes was a pretty lady, well educated and all set up to enjoy life.  Although against my general belief system, I do agree/hope he gets the death sentence. Thinking of how this would go in the West, a free public defender claiming he was not sane.

And the picture of the girl,, she not  look as pretty as like in this picture, but still good-looking ..

But, no way she diserve to dye like she did...

It's most likely a matter of probably having the legal right in Thailand to apply for bail, which from his point of view was worth a try, despite the non-existent chance of that actually happening. 

 

In regards to it being in the news, it's an update on the case.

I've seen several vids of people being cut or hacked apart. Depending on their status it can get pretty dirty on the floor. 

Did the killer change his clothes before trying to catch a taxi?

Looks like a reasonable 7 or 8/10 going out with a scruffy 1/10 - Sadly her bit of rough turned out to be a bad 'un. I'm all for the punishment fitting the crime.

Considering how stunningly beautiful she is there may be a grain of truth to insane.

 

Why would you ruin such an amazing female specimen.

 

I see him getting life in prison here, The polish/EU government crying and rescuing him after 10 years to take him back to poland.  It is shame would realy like to see him in a cell with about 100 ladyboys
