A powerful summer storm wreaked havoc on Chaiyaphum Hospital, causing the roof to collapse, glass windows to shatter, and the ceiling to crumble, scattering debris on parked cars. Medical staff had to undertake the challenging task of relocating patients to safety.

On May 23rd, a severe rainstorm struck the city of Chaiyaphum. Strong gusts of wind tore through the hospital's parking lot, causing the roof to fly off and land on civilian vehicles, including sedans, as well as medical personnel's parked cars, reported Daily News.

More than 10 vehicles suffered significant damage. Additionally, the forceful winds shattered glass windows on the hospital's sixth floor, resulting in widespread destruction. Initial assessments revealed that the outpatient building on the sixth floor experienced damage to glass doors, curtain rails, curtains, and ceilings. Medical staff were compelled to move patients using emergency protocols.

Furthermore, several patients who were seeking treatment at the hospital during the storm sustained injuries. They were harmed by the impact of the raging winds from this tropical storm.

According to security personnel, after the occurrence of the summer storm, Chaiyaphum Hospital faced the following consequences: the six-story outpatient building, particularly the sections near the women's department and administrative offices, experienced significant damage.

During the storm, pieces of the ceiling collapsed, but luckily, no patients in the affected areas were injured.

However, medical staff had to make immediate arrangements to relocate patients to safer areas.

Following the incident, Chaiyaphum Hospital will initiate repair and restoration measures to address the damages caused by this calamitous storm.

Another flimsy shanty town roof structure bites the dust.
