In a statement made on Tuesday morning, the Army's highest-ranking officials informed lawmakers that the branch's recruiting struggles are expected to continue throughout the current year. This marks the second consecutive year that the Army will fall short of its recruitment goals, with fiscal year 2023 now being targeted as the potential end to the ongoing slump.

The military's largest branch could face potential impact due to a continued personnel shortfall, according to sources.

Well, being a person who values life, especially my own.  I'd be inclined to join when all is well in the world!

The military used to have a lot of foreign recruits who were then given the option of citizenship.   As I recall, Trump threw many of them out of the military and sent them back to their country of origin.
