Availability of FarXIGA in Thailand

Does anybody know if farxiga is available in Thailand? I get them through my insurance for three month supply at $10. Without insurance the price can be as high as $600 for 30-day supply. My doctors told me it is available in India for around $15 for 30 day supply. Planning to visit Thailand for more than 90-day, but I cannot take more than 90-day supply to Thailand (my insurance will only give more than 90-day supply at a time).

I have a nephew that owns several pharmacies here.  I sent him a message to see if it's available.  I did look on MIMS website.  It is listed there so it is probably available.  I will update when I get an answer back from him.

 

They have it here.  But it is expensive.  A box of 30 tablets is around 2,000 baht.  That's about $58 at current exchange rates.  He's still checking to see if there is a generic version.

You could also try Medisafe Pharmacy, look them up on FB and contact them on Messenger. Not sure where in Thailand you will be but I use them for a drug I really struggled to find in Pattaya and their price was much better than a large private hospital here that I will refrain from naming

Their price was 1,950 baht for 30 pills.  It says they have 3 left right now.

As above. Available here but expensive and no generic equivalent. However a lot cheaper than in US.

Thanks. If I stay more than 90-day, may be I will make a trip to India and buy there for $50 for a 90-day supply. Was planning to go to India anyway. There is no generic. It is a new drug.

Called Forxiga here, but it's the same patented AstraZeneca product. I paid 2000 baht per 30 (10mg) at Pharma Choice in Chiang Mai. Availability no problem.

 

My insurance (Tricare) fully covered it. I self prescribed, after watching a commercial on US TV, where they asked if you'd rather be playing golf, or sitting for 6 hours in dialysis. Duh. As I'd had stage 3 CKD for quite awhile, a quick Google on Farxiga showed "greatest breakthrough fighting CKD in 20 years." After cross checking with my other medicines for conflicts (fortunately, none) and reading the side effects (some, but uncommon), I've been on it now for a couple of months. Hey, even insurance didn't cover it, it this keeps me out of dialysis, certainly worth it.

 

Oh, I guess it's also prescribed for Type 2 diabetes; but haven't researched its effectiveness there, not having diabetes.
