Triamcinolone IM Bangkok

Featured Replies

Greetings all. Any idea where I might be able to get Triamcinolone IM injectable in Bangkok? I tried SouthEast Pharmacy but they don't have it. I'd appreciate any hints as to which particular pharmacies I should try.

According to Mims, both Thainocort and Shincort are made in Thailand. I normally travel with a couple of these when I go to the back of beyond for a few months for work. Work is very dusty and my usual asthma meds stop working very efficiently. I do have a prescription from home for what it's worth, just that my stock of Kenacort is exhausted.

Thanks.

Not sure what the confused member is confused about. Enlighten me so that I can, perhaps, allay your confusion.

I recall getting a shot of triamcinolone - to treat a 'rotator cuff' problem in my shoulder - at Phaya-Thai 2 hospital in Bkk a few years ago.....if that's of any help.

Thank you, yes, the hospitals do administer them but I really don't want to take one preemptively.

Shincort is made by Y.S.P. INDUSTRIES (M) SDN BHD - a Malaysian company.  According to MIMS it's not available to Thailand.

Thaicort is made in Thailand.  However, it's an FDA category S (Special Controlled Drug) with a prescription required.  In practice this means you'll have to get it from a hospital after a medical consultation.

Thank you! Great to know.

In my view, self-administering an intramuscular injection for the treatment of an asthma attack appears to be too risky. However, with a prescription, I firmly believe that you can obtain one from various wholesale pharmacies located near major hospitals such as Siriraj Hospital or Rajavithi Hospital.

Thank you, I'll give that a shot. Unfortunately, self administration is the only choice when you're a week away from the road head.
