Germany has made a vaccine donation of almost one million doses of the bivalent Covid-19 vaccine to the Thai Ministry of Public Health, planning to distribute this significant stockpile to Thai hospitals in the forthcoming weeks.

This considerable vaccine donation was welcomed by Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul during an official handover ceremony at the German embassy yesterday. The ceremony was conducted by Germany’s ambassador to Thailand, Georg Schmidt. Precisely 999,360 doses of the bivalent Pfizer-manufactured Covid vaccine were given to the Thai Ministry.

The gesture was warmly appreciated by Charnvirakul. He expressed his gratitude to the German government, emphasizing that the generous vaccine donation mirrors over a century and a half of friendly relations between the two nations.

Germany has continually extended its hand in aid towards Thailand during the pandemic. Beyond contributing to reducing Covid cases in Thailand, Germany has also supported wider Asean region efforts.

Looking at the picture, M. Georg Schmidt was dressed properly. I wonder if he still asked M. G. Schmidt to go shower ?

Ref : Quoting M. Anutin "Many farang dress dirty and don’t shower"

Successfully dumped the shelf warmer before expiry date. Pfizer shot in Germany popular like a kick in the shin.

Huge scandalous multi billion contracts of EU with Pfizer. Millions of doses will rot. Compensation payments for non buying expected.

Just like the UK just signed a 10 year contract for 250 million mrna doses per year from Moderna.

Gee thanks Germany!! Now that the pandemic is over it's so kind of you to send your left over and unused vaccine that's probably close to expiration or already expired to make yourselves look good.

It is the bivalent one....So it can't be that old...just in Europe no one wants it anymore.

Covid - not that urgent anymore, I guess...

Otherwise these health officials, health professionals and diplomats would have worn masks to drive the message home.

A misinformation post regarding the vaccine has been removed along with a Troll post.  The Vaccine donated was the newer Bivalent Vaccine

Correct. Not that urgent. It's just another respiratory illness now.

"Infection prevention at all costs" is no longer a key public health strategy in most countries, and it appears Thailand is finally joining the rest of the world in following this.

They're clearly intended to help poor countries to get vaccines under an international agreement struck early on. Ex ept for the US where the then president cut WHO funding for vaccines.

It seems some posters here who like to engage in gratuitous Thai bashing can make a pig's ear out of a silk purse.

Same as two years ago.

Anutin the rimmer can't seem to place an order unless it's for Chinese vaccines.

Ridiculous.

I don't get it!  The population of the UK is under 70 million.  WHY would they order 250 million doses per year????

What Thai bashing are you referring to?
and i assume you are just making this up about the UK intending to help poorer countries via some agreement, where is your source?
The link you posted is in reference to covid jabs in 2021
not the same as what i am referring too
you will notice i stated "mrna doses" not "covid jabs"

FYI, nobody cares if you hate Trump, why even bring him into the convo?
Trump lives rent free in your mind LOL

mRNA jabs are covid jabs.

As I explained above, to give to other countries. You know, foreign aid.

A post insinuating the UK signed a deal to receive 250 million MRNA vaccines a year in a deal has been removed as it is Off-Topic.  Additionally, the post as posted is incorrect and as such is misinformation.
