Decriminalisation of sex work to provide legal protection

there were previous posts about how they want to regulate bars and other establishments, but the proposed texts were lacking common sense.

the best would be to just strike out the parts of current laws criminalizing the sexworkers, add some rules to protect the workers and give them social security and healthcare and leave the rest untouched.

all the registration / licensing stuff is nonsense.

I believe in Rights and Respect for sex workers. They should have protection under the law. No one should be trafficked, no one should be forced to do things against their will. Best of luck for legislation to protect sex workers, and best of luck to all sex workers everywhere!

the passage of the Sex Workers Protection Bill,

It won't pass; the police won't allow it.  Same as seatbelts in the backs of pickups; black windows in cars; meters in taxis; red-light running; speeding.

"Thailand’s sex industry has employed thousands of people for decades, even though soliciting, procuring or operating brothels are all prohibited under the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996."

So does the new bill propose legalising soliciting, procuring and operating brothels?
