I think just one little one would be plenty enough. She's not a tall gal!

Was the trip to Beijing a success? Well, by one very basic metric, yes.

Sure , I guess it all depends on what they consider a success.

The truth of the matter is that as we have the Monroe doctrine, they are also want their own version of the  Monroe doctrine, and why not? what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Unless one believes on American exceptionalism and That there is one set of rules for the US and another set for the rest of the world.

But the US  will do what ever possible to maintain a unipolar world, and China with everything it can to create it's sphere of influence,

I am afraid that unless the US comes to an understanding with China, conflict is inevitable, and it's not entirely clear that the US will win.

..but...but....but TRUMP!!!!

More inane whataboutism.  Trump shouldn't bow. Obama shouldn't bow. Biden did well not to bow to King Chuck.

Certainly Yellin shouldn't bow, especially to the VICE Premier.  She was bobbing up and down like one of those water toys that looks like a bird drinking water. You can bet that this moment is being played ad nauseum on Chinese media, showing the mighty Americans humbling themselves before China's power.

So in your playground rules mind that makes it OK???

It was a prearranged gesture of respect. Something Biden might do better to learn from.

USA stands for the United States of Amnesia

we all know about Cuba.

But

Have you forgotten  about  contra /santanista affair in Nicaragua?

Why do you think we invaded Grenada? do you really  think it was to protect some medical students?

Do you honestly believe the US would tolerate adversarial foreign troops in the western hemisphere?

What do you think would happen if China stationed Chinese troops in Mexico?

Janet Yellen is an economist not a diplomat she has been occupied in the task of trying to navigate our economy through these inflationary times not in the rituals of Chinese culture she’s been doing a remarkable job cut her some slack for crying out loud!if you want a diplomatic blunder remember when Trump saluted the N korean general?the look on little Kim’s face for that fleeting second was worth a thousand words

At this point, I think we'd likely surrender.

Yep, right out of the leftie playbook. "Waddabout Trump?!?".  You mean the time Trump saluted a NK general who had first saluted Trump? Probably not a good look. But far from the grovelling that Yellen did.  She approached like a supplicant.  As a senior White House staff member she must have had at least a modicum of training in protocol.

I am not so sure about that, we are still the strongest military power in the world. We certainly will not go down without a fight, With many of us ending up as collateral damage.

Is this to be just the five minutes off topic or the full half-hour?

Yea that's true,

But it must be a great time to be part of the US military complex. I read someplace that they can't produce such things fast enough.

This reminds of the Monty python argument skit

So what would be the cost for the Half hour off topic argument? ????

Both the US and the USSR interfered in the affairs of other nations during the cold war.

Regarding the US tolerating adversarial foreign troops in the Western Hemisphere; what do you think Cuba's military is?  Do you think Cuba's military was not supporting revolutionaries and socialist governments in South and Central America?  Do you think China hasn't got some military in their intelligence station in Cuba?

lf China stationed troop in Mexico the US would complain and impose sanctions, but there would be no military action against Mexico unless it appeared those troops were an imminent threat.

If you seriously believe either of your posts you are seriously uninformed.

If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes, so we can argue about it.
