Pattaya City was recently shocked by the brutal murder of 62 year old Hans Peter Mack, where a Pakistani-Thai man says he was implicated in a gruesome act against his will.

The 27 year old suspect, Shahrukh Karim Uddin, who possesses Thai citizenship despite his Pakistani origin, denies the accusations. He claims that the main instigator, 52 year old German Olaf Brinkmann, coerced him into becoming an unwilling participant in the disposal of the victim’s body.

Last night, Uddin was taken into custody for questioning by the local authorities. Major Wachirawit Wisutsaereepan from the Nongprue Police stated that Uddin displayed significant cooperation during his interrogation, consistently maintaining his innocence despite the serious charges levelled against him.

In contrast, the other primary suspects, Brinkmann and 54 year old Petra Grundgreif, have remained tight-lipped about the incident. Their reluctance to cooperate with the police has led to their cases being handled by their respective legal teams, according to Major Wachirawit.

Uddin, for his part, has communicated effectively with investigators, a gesture that only heightened his plea for assistance from Lieutenant General Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, Deputy Commissioner of the Thai Police. He wishes for his claims of innocence to be investigated independently.

How did he know Olaf if he is so innocent?

From the reports.

Seems a couple of businessmen got to know Olaf involuntary.

As other mafia gangsters he and his gang made money by "protection rackets", extortion, scams/fraud/trickery and the like. This Petra was a notorious scam/fraud gangster ever since when still in Germany. She had been sued multiple times for unpaid bills and theft but notoriously overloaded justice/law enforcement let it slip.

The german lady had approached his parents in the past for doing business together in their sea food business. The parents felt something was off, specially as no money was paid upfront and it became quiet, so no deal was ever made.

The parents later on learned that the german lady now still got in touch with their son, and the son claimed he made some profits on a land sale in the south of Thailand with that lady. The parents then stopped paying attention to it.

So he likely got to know Olaf via the german lady, could indeed be that he is innocent and used or forced. At least this is what was reported before in the news.

Tight lipped Germans, squealing Pakistani.

Think the Pakistani better run back to Pakistan if released - very quickly - those Germans will likely have other friends of 'disrepute'

Maybe he can match them. One of the very vocal and more pugnacious politicians in last week's PM debate is a Thai with Pakistani origins. You'd think the Thai Pakistani community is fairly close-knit, though it probably depends on the family background.
