Why not go after the users? Then there wouldn't be demand.

Why are you freaking asking me this question?? I’m not a policymaker in any country on this planet.

Lock them all up and then the suppliers will have no one to supply to!

Simple,

That will get the cr@p and the junkies/pot heads off the streets!

Singapore
Drug related crimes 46 per 100k people!

Ranked 53rd!

https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Crime/Drug-offences

Illegal Drugs impose a vicious cycle on humanity! People who oppose extreme measures to deter them contribute to its destructive consequences imop

That in itself is heinous !

What a load of Macaroni this chart is from 2000!

And you believe it?  that chart is about as reliable and trustworthy as Thailand is of having open, free and fair elections

It doesn't feature Colombia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Mexico and all the countries that produce and distribute this nonsense. I wonder why?

And your solution is to hang the users and the mules?

Minor consequences? Hard drugs are a federal offense in the US, three of those and you'll spend the rest of your life behind bars. I don't think that's minor.

Only in some states. And sure if one gets caught with a ton of white drugs. But getting caught with an ounce? No one gets life for that nowadays.

Yeah,

I think they should hang, draw and quarter over-stayers in Thailand.

After all, they know the law!

Glad you are not a judge!

I'll have to dig out my last TM-6 card and check.  Pretty sure it didn't have "OVERSTAYERS FACE DEATH PENALTY" in big, bold capital letters.

Unlike the cards in Singapore.

Glad you are not my lawyer!

I wasn't aware being hung drawn and quartered was the punishment for overstay. I believe it's deportation and a ban on re entering.

If I was a judge I would gave mo choice in the case innthe OP. The law she broke is punishable by death. Judges can't change the law.

The fact something is the law does not make it right.

Unless of course we ignore the history of laws being used to justify killing.

Every country in the world should be doing this. ????

An Asian county leading the way.

You deal, you die.

You traffic drugs, you die.

Don't waste our tax dollars on incarceration, take them out the back of the airport and blow their brains out.

Plain and simple. Let it be known. ????

It’s kind of difficult for you to deny your viscous streak.

Well duerte in the Philippines more or less implemented a death penalty for both users and dealers I might not agree but vast majority of the population did.

As did Thaksin with his fight against yaba I'm sure Singapore does not have same problem with layabouts killing there mother or grandmother over a few hundred baht as was said on here more eloquently than I can if you can't pay the fine don't do the crime

Perhaps you should read up on the extra judicial killings that resulted.

It’s always the same with the reactionaries.

Dimple solutions to complex problems and an affinity for the solution that ticks the viscous, cruel and authoritarian boxes.

Thanks for the laugh!

The very fact that they've executed two people in 3 days for drug offenses in Singapore, despite Singapor's death penalty law, proves undeniabley that the death penalty doesn't deter drug crimes!!! Just like the death penalty for capital murder in the US doesn't prevent murders!!!

It works for me buddy!
53 is a accomplishment   ,I wish my country could claim that!

Illegal drugs is a scourge on humanity ,it contributes to addiction, crimes, and all other manifestations of suffering!

To harsh for such a small amount. large amounts for the addictive stuff after a fair trial perhaps it’s appropriate .this lady should have been publicly humiliated (flogged) then rehabilitated I know everyone will think that’s barbaric but public humiliation has been used for centuries and is effective.the potential perp will think twice and the offended normal folks get their anger assuaged.the woman would still be alive and possibly achieve sobriety

I think you’re confusing deterrent with elimination. Of course it deters many people from committing such crimes.

The executed woman knew the laws and the punishments.

She broke the law, was found guilty in court and punished accordingly.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

And what if you forced to?

As I said I was not a supporter of his policy but speaking to a vast majority of people who on a daily basis were faced with resulting crime loved him and willingly voted for him.

I'm not for the death penalty except for exceptional circumstances but I believe if you're in a country with these laws obey them coz nothing you or I can do

The only logical way to go is legalization! I know it sounds crazy, but if you dive into it then you'll realize it's the only way that makes sense because the war against drugs simply can't be won!

Agree.Portugal did this.

Is that viscous streak caused by the oil being too thick? 555
